About the company:
Our client is a global leader in the manufacturing of acoustic materials, producing high-quality components such as headrests, earphones, and speakers—primarily for export to international markets. Established in 1995 and celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the company is a public listed company and has grown into a major industry player with over 15,000 employees globally, including a strong presence in Malaysia with over 1,000 staff.
Since launching its Malaysian operations in 2019, the company has experienced rapid growth, driven by increasing global demand and trade shifts resulting from the ongoing tariff environment. The Malaysian plant has become a critical hub for production, requiring skilled professionals to support its expanding operations and maintain high standards of quality and delivery.
About the role:
As a QA Manager, you will play a key leadership role in driving quality assurance across two production plants. You will oversee a QA team of approximately 60 personnel, ensuring end-to-end quality control—from incoming materials to final product inspection—while maintaining strong communication with both HQ and external clients. This role is critical in upholding product standards, managing compliance, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
You will be responsible for standardizing QA processes, leading root cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventive actions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your ability to balance technical QA expertise with cross-functional collaboration will be essential, as you work alongside the current QA Manager and eventually liaise with the QC Manager as well.
Responsibilities:
- Align Quality with Business Goals: Translate quality objectives into actionable plans that support overall business strategy. Standardize QA processes across incoming, in-process, and outgoing controls to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Lead QA Operations and Teams: Manage daily QA operations with speed, accuracy, and accountability. Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team with clear responsibilities, performance goals, and skill development plans.
- Monitor Performance and Drive Compliance: Establish KPIs and reporting systems to track quality performance. Ensure disciplined execution of inspections, testing, and audits in line with industry standards and internal controls.
- Drive Root Cause and Preventive Actions: Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions using tools like 8D, 5 Whys, and FMEA. Proactively minimize recurring issues through preventive actions and system-level improvements.
- Lead Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce scrap/rework, and improve line yield in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Promote a Quality-Driven Culture: Foster a proactive, quality-focused culture across all levels, encouraging accountability and operational excellence throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Electronics or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of QA experience in electronics manufacturing (e.g., PCBA, box build, SMT, EMS).
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610) and regulatory compliance.
- Familiar with quality tools: FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.
- Experience with customer and third-party audits.
- Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills.
Our client values proactive, quality-focused professionals who are committed to driving operational excellence and upholding the highest standards. If you are driven by accountability, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we would love to hear from you!
