The Malaysian Leprosy Relief Association (MALRA) is dedicated to serving persons affected by leprosy, their families, and their communities. For decades, we have worked to reduce stigma, improve quality of life, and create opportunities for empowerment.
We are now seeking a Project Lead to lead and strengthen our programmes and partnerships.
Role Overview
As Project Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership for MALRA’s programmes and projects.
- Overseeing the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of initiatives.
- Building partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, healthcare institutions, donors, and communities.
- Ensuring effective resource management and sustainability of MALRA’s mission.
- Maintaining and managing relationships with the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) to collaborate on initiatives led by either party.
- Working closely with LHDN, Company Secretaries (Cosecs), auditors, and accountants to maintain MALRA’s tax-exempt status under Section 44(a).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead programme planning and execution in alignment with MALRA’s vision.
- Manage budgets, grants, and reporting requirements.
- Supervise and support a small but dedicated team of staff, vendors and volunteers.
- Develop fundraising and partnership opportunities to grow impact.
- Promote public awareness and advocacy to reduce stigma and discrimination.
- Ensure compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in in Social Work, Community Development, Sociology, Psychology, or other relevant field
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in programme management, nonprofit leadership, or community development.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Track record in fundraising, grant management, or donor relations is an advantage.
- Passionate about social justice, health equity, and serving marginalized communities.
- Experience in working with and reporting to a board

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
