Description
Product Safety Asia Pacific is an integrated expertise platform for steering compliant and safe product across the entire product value chain for BASF. We provide effective & efficient standard services and customized professional expertise services for various business and cross regions.
Objective
- Deliver Product Safety services, demonstrating intermediate to advance competencies in the specific Chemical Regulations, and/or Product Stewardship skillset.
- Lead discussion for the designated services with various stakeholders such as supply chain, customer services and technical experts for execution and/or improvement actions of related compliance measures
- Continuous improvement for designated work processes and communication processes, including change management.
- Guide related member(s) in performing routine tasks for designated services
- Ensure right for the first time for services deliverable including evaluation and execution of corrective action
Main Tasks
As Senior Specialist with designated expertise on BASF Product Safety compliance framework, to execute chemical regulation and product safety related compliance measures for BASF companies. Collaborate closely with team for excellence services and active participation in operation excellence activities and initiatives.
- Execute related Product Safety services deliverables, including chemical regulation operational compliance measures through close collaboration among team and cross sub-team, including timely addressing non-conformance management.
- Monitor related regulatory reporting and review compliance relevant areas against business processes predefined criteria
- Evaluate, analyze and verify product regulatory data and compliance documentation for system and database compliance monitoring and maintenance
- Assist team members in learning and issues troubleshooting related to the service delivery including communication with internal stakeholder and other business partners
- As part of region specialist on BASF Product Safety Compliance framework, to assess risk and ensure related regulatory activities are executed timely and in accordance to the requirements.
- Active execution of knowledge exchange on best practices and training within sub-team and cross team.
- Lead quality checks, including non-conformance monitoring and active participation in improvement initiatives.
- Take part as key focal to support internal and external audit, including execution of improvement measures.
- Ensure timely review, update and improvement related work documentation by team, such as work guide, process description, etc.
Requirements
Education
- University degree, Master/ PhD degree in scientific area, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline
Working Experience:
- At least 3-4 years of relevant experience in Chemical Regulation, Product Regulatory affairs or related fields in Product Safety and Stewardship activities
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a result-oriented mindset.
- Sound knowledge in Chemistry and regulations
- Good understanding on global and local chemical legislation system, master data system, supply chain processes and business processes of BASF
- Fluent in written and spoken Korean and English. Ability in written and spoken Mandarin is an advantage.
- Proactive and be able to work under pressure and independently
- Proficient in MS Office and SAP
