Job Summary: The Procurement & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for managing supplier sourcing, procurement activities, inventory control, and material flow to support production. This role ensures timely material availability, maintains accurate stock records, and coordinates with suppliers and production teams to optimize efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement & Supplier Management
- Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, standard parts, and subcontracted processes.
- Conduct RFQ (Request for Quotation) and perform quotation comparisons for cost-effective purchasing.
- Generate and issue Purchase Orders (POs) to suppliers and track order confirmations.
- Monitor supplier delivery schedules, follow up on delays, and ensure on-time material availability.
2. Inventory & Warehouse Control
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials (stamp "Received" and check for defects).
- Maintain batch number registration and proper documentation (mill certs, material specs).
- Update inventory records in APS (Advanced Planning System) or ERP/MRP software.
- Conduct cycle counting, stock takes, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Prepare material in-out reports and maintain accurate stock levels
3. Production Material Coordination
- Issue materials to production by updating job travellers with batch numbers and attaching mill certificates.
- Physically deliver materials and job travellers to production teams as needed.
- Coordinate with production planners to ensure material availability aligns with schedules.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain organized records (hardcopy & softcopy) for mill certs, POs, delivery notes, and inspection reports.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and inventory control procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 2+ years in procurement, inventory control, or production material planning. Passionate Fresh graduate is welcomed.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, APS)Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP), and PO systems.
- Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, organizational, and problemsolving abilities.
- Attention to Detail: Must ensure accuracy in batch tracking, documentation, and stock records.
Work Environment:
- On-site role (warehouse/production floor involvement).
- May require occasional overtime to meet delivery/production deadlines
