As a Mechanical Drill Technician at Gultech (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., you will play a crucial role in setting up, operating, and maintaining mechanical drilling machines used in the PCB manufacturing process. This full-time position is based at our state-of-the-art facility in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah, where you will contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of our production processes.
What you'll be doing
- Set up and operate mechanical drilling machines based on production plans and technical drawings.
- Load and unload panels, monitor drill depth, tool wear, and alignment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of drilling equipment.
- Inspect drilled boards to ensure compliance with specifications using measuring tools such as microscopes, pin gauges, or AOI systems.
- Replace worn or broken drill bits, and ensure tool inventory is tracked and managed properly.
- Follow process control documents (PCDs), SOPs, and quality requirements.
- Record production output, downtime, and maintenance activities accurately.
- Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with 5S and safety guidelines.
What we're looking for
- Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating mechanical drill machines, preferably in PCB or electronics manufacturing.
- Ability to read technical drawings and work instructions.
- Familiar with drill machine brands such as Schmoll, Hitachi, or Excellon (preferred).
- Good attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Basic computer skills for machine interface and reporting.
- Willing to work in shifts and clean room/production floor environment.
- Willing to work night shift
