About the Role
This position is responsible for the planning and operations of the Middleware Platform. This includes, but is not limited to, platforms such as the Enterprise Integration Platform (e.g., IBM webMethods, ESB), DevSecOps Platform, and Enterprise Monitoring and Logging.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the Middleware Platform team in managing platform operations and delivering services that ensure performance and resilience.
- Ensure the right platforms and tools are used to address business challenges, collaborating with stakeholders to develop comprehensive solutions.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Project Managers, and other leaders to deliver initiatives and products using lean and agile project management methods.
- Coach and empower delivery teams to take ownership of operational tasks, delivery, risk and issue management, and assist in removing blockers.
- Support Product Owners and delivery teams in investing in application health, balancing platform and application ownership with project delivery.
- Enable and support Strategic Delivery Partners to optimise resources and deliver valuable outcomes.
- Foster a team environment that promotes engagement and high performance across a diverse, distributed, and partnered team.
- Proactively manage and address performance issues within the delivery team.
- Build strong relationships with internal customers, stakeholders, and integration teams to ensure smooth and customer-centric delivery.
- Provide technical advice and direction to teams and stakeholders to inform business strategy and deliver innovative technical solutions.
- Offer thought leadership to support the successful design and implementation of technology strategies aligned with divisional and corporate goals.
- Oversee team operations including project planning, resource allocation, financial management, and risk management.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in an IT-related field.
- Over 8 years of experience in IT and technical functions.

At least 3 years of hands-on experience in IT delivery, operations, and application ownership within a large organization, specifically in one or more of the following areas:
- Enterprise Integration Platforms (e.g., SAG webMethods ESB)
- DevOps or DevSecOps Pipelines
- Enterprise Middleware Monitoring and Logging
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in agile/scrum teams, in roles such as architect, developer, product owner, or scrum master.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in applying Agile and Lean methodologies in IT operations.
- Proven experience leading teams responsible for enterprise platform operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets strategically, including resource procurement, outcome measurement, adapting to budget changes, and implementing governance.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to develop innovative services and ensuring platforms meet both business and technology needs.
