Job Summary:
The Mechanical Supervisor (Building Maintenance) is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and supervising mechanical works and maintenance activities for building projects. This includes mechanical systems such as plumbing, fire-fighting systems, pumps, and other M&E-related components. The role involves leading a team of technicians and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and standards. We are looking for a candidate who is available to start immediately.
Job Description:
- Assist the Project Manager in liaising with consultants and M&E engineers to resolve all mechanical-related technical issues.
- Support the Project Manager in conducting technical reviews and ensuring all mechanical works meet contract requirements and technical specifications.
- Monitor mechanical system installations, maintenance, and servicing to ensure alignment with project timelines and handover schedules.
- Oversee and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system installations and maintenance.
- Review and compile daily site activity reports and submit them to the Project Manager for review.
- Assist in preparing project progress reports, claims, and cost tracking for mechanical components.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of manpower, mechanical equipment, and work processes.
- Propose and implement necessary corrective measures to avoid delays and maintain quality standards.
- Assist the Project Manager in handling variation orders and finalizing mechanical scope in project final accounts.
- Ensure proper handover of mechanical systems to clients, complete with test and commissioning documentation.
- Supervise subcontractors and workers on proper material handling, usage of mechanical tools and equipment.
- Maintain accurate stock records and ensure availability of mechanical parts and materials.
- Coordinate all on-site mechanical activities to ensure smooth project flow and adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Ensure all mechanical works are executed in line with approved shop drawings and industry standards.
- Report to the Project Manager on mechanical work progress, manpower deployment, and resource utilization.
- Attend weekly project meetings to present updates on mechanical aspects, discuss challenges, and resolve site issues.
- Ensure daily toolbox meetings are conducted with mechanical teams before beginning site activities.
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Project Manager, Project Director, or Management.
- Handle any other tasks relevant to mechanical systems assigned from time to time
Job Requirement:
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in the mechanical or M&E construction/maintenance industry.
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Required language(s): English and Bahasa Melayu.
- Willing to travel or be based at project sites.
- Able to handle mechanical work independently with good problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across teams and departments.
- Effective leadership abilities with experience guiding and managing technical teams.
- Pleasant personality with a proactive approach to work and responsibilities.
- Competent in handling paperwork and mechanical documentation, including reports and tracking logs.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
