JOB DESCRIPTION:
Legal Research & Drafting
- Conduct legal research on statutory laws, regulations, case law, and industry practices relevant to the company’s operations.
- Assist in drafting and preparing simple legal documents, contracts, letters, memos, and internal advisories.
- Summarise legal findings in clear and structured formats for internal review.
Contract & Document Support
- Assist in reviewing, preparing, and organising contracts, NDAs, service agreements, and standard templates.
- Support in checking document completeness and tracking contract deadlines and renewal dates.
- Help maintain the legal document database and ensure proper execution, stamping, and filing of agreements.
Corporate Governance & Compliance
- Help in maintaining statutory registers and tracking deadlines for filings, licenses, and permits.
- Assist with preparation of board resolutions and corporate secretarial paperwork.
- Support the legal team in monitoring compliance checklists and records.
Administrative & Coordination Support
- Assist with internal coordination between departments on legal documentation or information gathering.
- Provide clerical and administrative support such as scheduling, document filing, preparing bundles, printing, scanning, and tracking correspondences.
Liaison & External Support
- Liaise with external solicitors, notaries, and government agencies (e.g. SSM, LHDN, courts) for simple filings or document delivery.
- Follow up on pending legal requests and keep records of outstanding items or issues.
REQUIREMENTS
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or equivalent legal qualification.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail with good organisational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with legal databases is an advantage.
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
- Able to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
