Position Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Islamic Finance Lecturer to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Islamic finance, a commitment to teaching excellence, and the ability to engage students in both theoretical and practical aspects of the field. This position will involve delivering lectures, conducting research, and contributing to the development of course materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching: Deliver engaging lectures and seminars on Islamic finance topics, including but not limited to Shariah-compliant financial instruments, risk management in Islamic finance, and the ethical implications of financial practices.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with faculty to design and update course syllabi, ensuring alignment with industry standards and academic rigor.
- Research: Conduct and publish research in relevant areas of Islamic finance, contributing to the body of knowledge and staying current with industry trends.
- Student Engagement: Foster a positive learning environment, encouraging student participation and providing mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Assessment: Develop and administer assessments, providing timely feedback to students to enhance their learning experience.
- Advising: Serve as an academic advisor for students pursuing Islamic finance studies, guiding them on course selections and career opportunities.
- Collaboration: Work with colleagues within the department and across the institution to promote interdisciplinary learning and research initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Master's degree or Ph.D. in Islamic Finance, Islamic Economics, Finance, or a related field. Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, or Islamic finance certifications) are a plus.
- Experience: Proven teaching experience at the university level in Islamic finance or related subjects. Industry experience in Islamic financial institutions is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Islamic financial principles, instruments, and regulations. Familiarity with contemporary issues in the Islamic finance industry.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible manner. Proficiency in educational technology and online teaching platforms is preferred.
- Research Ability: Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and contribute to academic publications in the field.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
