Job Description:
- To teach foundational Science to Lower Primary students (Years 1–3), using the Cambridge Primary Science curriculum as a framework.
- The teacher will instill scientific curiosity and early inquiry skills in young learners through hands-on learning, exploration, and age-appropriate scientific discovery.
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons that introduce basic scientific concepts (plants, animals, materials, weather, senses, light, sound, etc.).
- Implement interactive, inquiry- based learning aligned with the Cambridge Primary Science curriculum.
- Use age- appropriate teaching methods, resources, and activities to support understanding and enthusiasm for science.
- Foster curiosity, observation skills, and basic scientific vocabulary.
- Encourage students to ask questions, make predictions, and explore natural phenomena through play and guided investigation.
- Differentiate instruction to meet varied learning needs and abilities.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and structured environment where students feel free to explore and express ideas.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during any science-related activities or simple experiments.
- Promote teamwork, curiosity, and responsible behavior.
- Work closely with fellow teachers and curriculum coordinators to align planning and share resources.
- Participate in school meetings, training workshops, and curriculum reviews.
- Stay updated with best practices in primary science teaching and early childhood pedagogy.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Primary Education, Science Education, or a related field.
- Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed., PGCE, Diploma in Teaching).
- At least 2 years of teaching experience with early or lower primary students, preferably within the Cambridge or international school system.
- Strong English communication skills (spoken and written).
- Knowledge of inquiry-based science education and early childhood learning principles.
- Experience with the Cambridge Primary Science curriculum or similar international programs.
- Creative, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach to teaching young learners.
- Familiarity with phonics integration, visual aids, and play-based science learning.
- Ability to use digital tools and simple tech resources in the classroom.
