Job Description
Position Overview
The Field Application Specialist (FAS) plays a pivotal role in delivering superior technical and application support to customers and the Sales Organization within the Industrial Solutions Division. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager and the Technical Support Team, this position requires developing strong technical expertise to effectively promote and support the implementation of both new and existing product portfolios for end customers and channel partners.
The FAS collaborates closely with the sales team to execute strategic sales plans, qualify new opportunities, and identify cross-selling possibilities during customer interactions. The role involves extensive fieldwork, travel, and delivering exceptional technical support through various communication channels, including in-person visits, email, phone and digitals.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide on-field technical assistance and support to customers, addressing inquiries and resolving product application including installation, training and maintenance of small and big instruments.
- Customer Training: Conduct detailed training sessions for customers on the effective use of products, ensuring comprehensive understanding.
- Product Promotion: Actively promote products and solutions to customers by participating in events, trade shows, and presentations, showcasing the unique benefits and features of the product portfolio.
- Testing and Validation: Perform on-field tests to verify proper implementation of solutions, identify issues, and ensure high-quality results.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with direct/indirect sales teams, sharing technical knowledge and expertise while building a network of Key Accounts, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Decision Makers, and Technical Buyers.
- Us the tool provided to track and communicate activities with the team regarding: complaints management, business travels, instrument management and FTE.
- Cross-Selling Opportunities: Identify opportunities to cross-sell complementary products or services during customer interactions. Collaborate with the sales team to capitalize on these opportunities and expand the range of solutions offered to customers.
The role also involves coordinating your work with other departments within the company, acting with loyalty, diligence, and professionalism, and adhering to the directives provided.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Scientific Disciplines, preferably in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, CTF, or related fields.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of molecular techniques such as ELISA, Lateral Flow devices and PCR.
Skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate product benefits, values, and technical information to customers and colleagues.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and execution skills, with attention to detail and a customer-focused mindset.
- Capability to travel for up to one week at a time and arrange travel independently.
Languages & IT Proficiency:
- Fluency in English and Mandarin
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and CRM tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in a regional application support related role in the diagnostic testing business
- Experience in clinical, chemical, or life sciences (laboratory context).
- Previous exposure to sales, technical, or application support roles, particularly in an international setting.
- Up to 30% of travel
