Key Responsibilities *
- Assist in the formulation and execution of CIMB’s net zero financed emissions strategy, working closely with the lead to implement sector-specific pathways and decarbonization targets in alignment with international climate goals.
- Collaborate with country sustainability team, risk management, credit, and business units to integrate net zero goals into portfolio management, strategic business planning, client engagement, and credit underwriting. Support in training and capability-building initiatives to ensure alignment with CIMB’s net zero goals.
- Work alongside business units to co-create and implement long-term decarbonisation plans for clients. Assist in setting and tracking KPIs to assess client progress on sustainability efforts and support alignment with CIMB’s financed emissions reduction targets.
- Provide research and support for guidance on potential climate-related risks that may impact client operations and financing. Work with business teams to develop insights on structuring deals that mitigate climate risks while identifying opportunities for transition financing.
- Participate in the data collection, tracking, and reporting of financed emissions, ensuring accuracy and consistency with methodologies such as the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF). Support in enhancing processes to align with regulatory requirements and contribute to timely and accurate reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Employ data analytics and digital tools to monitor performance against targets and generate insights that inform strategic refinements. Provide data-driven support to anticipate stakeholder needs and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Participate in client engagements to assess and mitigate climate-related risks associated with CIMB’s financing and capital-raising activities.
- Stay informed on evolving climate standards, regulations, and net zero frameworks. Apply this expertise to proactively recommend enhancements to CIMB’s transaction-level climate assessments and support the development of internal capabilities for managing financed emissions
- Collaborate with Business Units and relevant Business Enablers to incorporate climate considerations, such as emissions reduction pathways and net zero alignment, into CIMB’s transaction and credit underwriting processes. Act as a champion of the Group’s net zero policies, promoting climate-conscious decision-making across all transaction activities.
- Support at relevant sustainability-related conferences and engagement with external stakeholders as required.
- Execute improvement actions in addressing all concerns and requirements of key management, Board, regulators and/or auditors with respect to functional area of responsibility.

Job Specification *
Qualifications
(Basic Degree/Diploma etc)
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Finance, Sustainability, or related field
Professional Qualification and/or Regulatory, Licensing requirements
Certification in sustainability / climate risk (preferred)
Relevant Work Experience
At least 1-3 years working experience in net zero / climate risk assessment and management
Strong understanding of net zero principles, climate risks, and sustainable finance.
Familiarity with industry methodologies for emissions accounting, such as PCAF.
