This role exists to drive digital transformation and data analytics across the organization. As the Alteryx Subject Matter Expert (SME), this role leads the implementation of Alteryx workflows across departments, spearheads showcase projects like MPF and promote adoption through training and advocacy. It contributes uniquely by combining deep technical expertise in tools like Alteryx, Power BI, and Excel macros with a strong foundation in audit and accounting, enabling effective execution of transformation tasks to modernise and streamline financial processes.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy automation workflows using Alteryx, Power BI, Excel VBA and other transformation tools to streamline business processes as well as enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Drive strategic automation efforts, including engaging new users (e.g. Health) and aligning projects with organisational goals.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to uncover trends, variances, and opportunities.
- Develop dynamic financial models and interactive dashboards using Power BI and Excel to support strategic decision-making. Ensure reports are user-friendly, visually engaging, and aligned with management information needs.
- Champion the adoption of automation tools by conducting hands-on training sessions, creating user guides, setting up SOPs, and offering ongoing technical support.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Professional certification in data analytics or automation tools (e.g. Alteryx Designer Core/Advanced, Microsoft Power BI, Excel VBA).
- Additional certifications in project management (e.g. PMP, Agile) or finance (e.g. CFA, CPA) are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and reporting frameworks.
- Proficiency in data visualisation and dashboard development using Power BI or similar tools.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a finance, business analytics, or process improvement role.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing automated workflows using Alteryx, Power BI, and Excel VBA.
- Experience in analysing financial data and developing models to support strategic decision-making.
