To oversee the operations of The Datai Pledge, intergrade the pillars and promote cross-pillar collaborations, as well as to serve as a representative or point of contact of The Datai Pledge to The Datai Langkawi guests, employees and other external parties.

1. To assist the treasurer in the development and administration of The Datai Pledge (TDP) annual budget and profit & loss (P&L).

2. To support the treasurer in ensuring TDP’s funds are utilised efficiently and in alignment with the approved budget, forecasted P&L, and TDP’s vision, with full utilisation of revenues by financial year-end.

3. To assist the treasurer with the development, revision and execution of legal contracts and strategies through facilitating communications with pillars, implementing strategies operationally and providing operational inputs, including the involvement in renewal process of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and collaboration agreements with pillar partners and other external partners.

1. To assist with marketing team on the production of yearly Impact Report through facilitating communications with pillars, provision of operational inputs and proofreading.

2. To personally network at all levels with individuals from both inside and outside the company structure for the further development of TDP.

3. To actively promote TDP and its projects.

4. To assist sales & marketing team on promotional activities / site visits / media visits / media shooting related to TDP as a representative of TDP.

5. To strategise to improve the awareness of TDL guests and employees on TDP.

6. To assist marketing team and oversee the planning and production of social media contents and marketing campaigns of The Datai Pledge.

1. Ensure that corporate, divisional and departmental policies and procedures are adhered to at all levels.

2. Liaise closely with other departments and emphasizes on excellent inter-departmental relations considering other departmental procedures and policies.

3. Delegate authority and responsibilities to direct subordinates without relinquish ultimate responsibility for the operation.

4. Superior supervision, multitasking, decision making and time-management skills are essential.

1. To actively manage, support and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, and priorities of TDP projects.

2. To interact professionally with TDL guests, employees and external parties and handle enquiries in a positive and solutions-based approach.

3. To monitor progress and identify capacity gaps of pillars' partnerships and projects. Facilitate discussions regularly and when necessary.

4. To ensure monthly highlights from all pillars, Marketing and Finance are compiled and release monthly highlights to TDP committee members on a timely manner.

5. To monitor efficiency and impacts of pledge projects. Develop an internal monitoring and evaluation framework and/or project monitoring tools to ensure project targets are met on schedule with targeted impacts.

6. To spearhead and arrange monthly/bimonthly update meetings with involved pledge team members.

7. To develop and strengthen collaborations, networks or partnerships of TDP via active participation in outreach programmes and events when necessary.

8. To identify potentials and promote cross-pillar collaborations amongst pillars and pillar partners.

9. To ensure the visions, missions and objectives of TDP are displayed in each pledge project (via evaluation when applicable).

10. To stay informed and aware of the latest issues/efforts in the fields of wildlife & marine conservation, sustainability, and youth empowerment in Malaysia and at the global level.

11. To identify meaningful projects and actively brainstorm with pillar leaders on issues relevant to expanding TDP’s impact whenever possible.

12. To manage the pillars equally and direct all pillars to the same direction that is in-line with TDP’s vision and missions.

13. To represent TDP and actively engage with TDL guests, employees, and external parties to increase awareness on TDP, as well as serving as the point of contact for TDL guests, employees and external parties.

14. To promote the incorporation of TDP’s vision in TDL’s day-to-day operations, including the conduct of relevant trainings to TDL employees.

15. To collaborate with pillar leaders and marketing to increase awareness on TDP at strategic locations in TDL e.g. lobby, Nature Centre, Sustainability outlets, back of the house, as well as during dedicated events e.g. guest cocktail party).

16. To maintain all hotel records and forms as prescribed by established policies and procedures.

Personnel and Training Responsibilities:

1. To serve as an excellent people manager, showing respect for local customs and culture.

2. To build an effective management team through taking an active interest in the development of subordinates through training and involvement in decision making.

3. To provide subordinates with frequent feedback on their performance and status of development. Conducts annual appraisals.

4. To exercise self-control, patience and fairness at all times.

5. To maintain an “Open Door” policy.

6. To project a positive and motivated attitude among peers and employees at all times.

7. To ensure that all personnel and training related policies

8. To ensure that all areas of responsibility are properly staffed, supervised and operating smoothly

9. To assist the departmental trainer in their development and monitor their effectiveness in staff training.

10. To ensure that all employees are fully conversant with the hotel’s facilities and services. To ensure that all employees schedule are properly established and maintained.

1. To maintain highest levels of personal hygiene and grooming at all times, as per The Datai Grooming standard.

2. To be fully conversant with all health and safety, fire and emergency procedures.

1. To ensure that all Resort HR policies and procedures are followed.

2. To maintain and implement the reporting procedures and control system established by the Resort.

3. To ensure that channels of communication are respected, and information is disseminated to the correct receivers.

4. To provide an effective structure for communication within The Datai Pledge at all levels.

5. To take part in training, familiarisation and induction programs and continuously strives to enhance knowledge of the job function.

1. To perform any additional duties as may be requested by CEO of Datai Hotels and Resorts (DHR), General Manager of TDL, and Chief advisor of TDP.

1. To adhere to all organisational policies and standards.

2. To be knowledgeable about the facilities and services provided by the Resort.

3. To perform flexibility with working additional hours.

4. At all times to project a favourable image of The Datai Pledge to TDL’s employees, guests, stakeholders, local community and the public.

5. At all times to project a favourable image of The Datai Resorts to the public.

6. To ensure excellent communication and working relationships with colleagues are maintained and contribute to the team spirit.

7. To exhibit outstanding knowledge of the resort, island, Langkawi culture.

8. To know and apply resort’s Policies & Procedures, including those for the emergency situations.

9. To ensure all fixed assets are well maintained.

10. To demonstrate knowledge and interest in goals, and objectives of The Datai brand.

11. To ensure all activities are carried out honestly, ethically and within the parameters of the Malaysian Law.

12. To ensure that all tasks assigned by superiors are completed, in a timely fashion.

5. Leads The Datai Pledge towards achieving TDP overall objectives and missions.

Bachelor Degree in Sustainability, Conservation, and/or Environmental Science is of an advantage.

Previous working experience in the field of Sustainability, Conservation and/or Environmental Science is of an advantage.

Management / team leading /Project management experience. Public relation & presentation skills.

Directly supervise the Historian and Datai Pledge Coordination. Oversee and provide guidance to the four Datai Pledge pillar leaders and other support members.

Some travel may be required for training, conferences and special events.

Minimum 5 days (45 hours per week). However, additional hours according to business needs are expected.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM6,500.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
