Job Title: COOK (Solace Asia, Ampang)
The Cook at the rehabilitation centre is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering healthy, nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and therapeutic programme standards. This role ensures all kitchen operations are managed efficiently and hygienically, supporting client recovery and well-being through high-quality food service.
Work Scope Includes:
- Prepare five to six healthy and nutritious meals daily that meet clients’ dietary needs, medical restrictions, and the centre’s therapeutic programme guidelines.
- Collaborate with clinical and wellness teams to design menus that support recovery, detox, and overall health.
- Supervise and schedule kitchen staff; oversee daily operations and assign responsibilities.
- Ensure timely and hygienic food preparation, plating, and delivery.
- Plan menus and coordinate food ordering to maintain nutritional variety and cost control.
- Monitor inventory and keep track of culinary expenses in line with the food and beverage budget.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment in accordance with legal and food safety regulations.
- Provide training and support to kitchen personnel where needed.
Selection Criteria:
- Proven experience as a cook, preferably in healthcare, wellness, or rehabilitation environments.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, therapeutic diets, and healthy meal preparation.
- Certification in Food Handling, Safety & Hygiene (required or must be obtained upon hire).
- Culinary Arts or Nutrition qualification (preferred).
- Ability to supervise and schedule kitchen staff effectively.
- Excellent time management, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience in managing kitchen inventory and food budgets.
- Commitment to cleanliness, professionalism, and client-focused service.
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and public holidays, based on a fixed monthly schedule averaging 15 working days (approx. 180 hours per month).

This role requires a high level of empathy, discretion, and professionalism as it supports individuals undergoing sensitive recovery journeys. The Cook is expected to contribute to a therapeutic and respectful environment that prioritizes clients’ health and well-being.
