Job Description: Building Technician (Handyman)
Position Title: Building Technician / Handyman
Reporting To: Outlet Manager / Maintenance Supervisor / HQ Management
Work Location: All company outlets (based on job requirements, time, and assigned location)
Salary Range: RM3,000 – RM4,500 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Job Purpose
To perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance works for company outlets, covering electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, and general handyman tasks to ensure smooth operations, compliance, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repair
- Carry out plumbing works: repair leaks, clogged drains, replace fixtures, and install piping as required.
- Perform electrical and wiring works: lighting, sockets, switches, troubleshooting faults, and maintenance of distribution boards.
- Handle air-conditioning servicing, filter cleaning, and assist in repairs or liaise with contractors for major servicing.
- Conduct minor carpentry, painting, and handyman repairs (doors, locks, furniture, fittings).
- Support outlet equipment maintenance (kitchen, bakery, bowling machinery, etc., as required).
- Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct scheduled inspections of outlets to identify potential issues.
- Perform routine servicing (aircond cleaning, electrical safety checks, plumbing inspection).
- Ensure maintenance logbooks are updated for all tasks completed.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance works comply with statutory and safety requirements.
- Report any unsafe conditions or hazards to management immediately.
- Ensure proper use and upkeep of tools and equipment.
- Support to Outlets
- Travel to different outlets as assigned to resolve maintenance requests.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns or urgent repair needs.
- Liaise with outlet managers and staff to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in building/maintenance/handyman works.
- Skilled in plumbing, wiring/electrical, and air-conditioning servicing.
- Possess a valid Chargeman AO certificate or equivalent competency (recognized by Suruhanjaya Tenaga).
- Able to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
- Willing to travel between outlets and work flexible hours (including weekends/public holidays if needed).
- Possess a valid driving license (own transport is an advantage).
