Job Summary
The Assistant Account Manager will support the Account Manager in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the legal firm. This role requires attention to detail, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced legal environment. The ideal candidate will assist in managing client accounts, billing, collections, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
The Responsibilities:
- Able to handle full sets of accounts and month end closing.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
- Accurate and timely recording of all general ledger transactions including fixed assets, banks, accruals and prepayments.
- Manage cash flow and petty cash.
- Ensure all accounting records are properly updated and reconciled in the accounting system.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules and follow up on the outstanding items.
- Preparation of monthly management reports and other relevant reports with proper analysis of schedules
- Support in financial planning.
- Monitor actual vs budget performance and provide variance analysis, identify discrepancies and investigate unusual transactions.
- Liaison with banks, external auditors, tax agents, government bodies and other stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory and statutory fillings, including audit and tax.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, regulations and internal policies.
- Undertake and support other ad-hoc accounts and administrative tasks as needed.
- Provide guidance and support to the Accounts team.

Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting. Professional qualification in accounting or finance (MIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferable.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in accounting or audit firm.
- Highly proficient in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
- Sensitive to numbers and good analytical skills to analyse financial results.
- Able to work independently or in teams and demonstrates strong initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and to meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work immediately will be an added advantage.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
