Job Overview:
This is a full-time role based in Johor Bahru, Johor. As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple retail outlets within your assigned area. You will play a key role in ensuring that each store meets brand standards in sales performance, customer service, store operations, staff development, and visual merchandising. Your leadership will directly impact the overall profitability and customer satisfaction across the stores under your supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the performance of multiple outlets within the assigned region.
- Drive store sales targets and profitability through effective leadership and strategic planning.
- Ensure all stores maintain high standards in customer service, cleanliness, merchandising, and compliance with company SOPs.
- Monitor and analyze store KPIs, identify performance gaps, and implement action plans for improvement.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop Store Supervisors and their teams to ensure strong operational execution.
- Conduct regular store visits to audit store performance, inventory, and staff engagement.
- Ensure adherence to brand standards, health and safety regulations, and local regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with the marketing and merchandising teams for campaign rollouts, promotions, and seasonal changes.
- Manage store staffing levels, schedules, and labour costs in line with business needs and budgets.
- Act as a communication bridge between headquarters and store teams, ensuring alignment with company policies and initiatives.
- Manage and resolve customer claims and complaints in a timely and professional manner to maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- · Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
- · Minimum 3–5 years of retail operations experience, with at least 2 years in a multi-store supervisory or area management role.
- · Experience in beauty, healthcare, or pharmacy retail is an advantage.
- · Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- · Results-oriented with a strong analytical mindset.
- · Ability to work independently, travel regularly, and adapt to a fast-paced retail environment.
- · Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with POS/reporting systems.
- · Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin or Japanese is an added advantage).
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in promotional materials and activities.
- Meeting daily targets and submitting sales reports.
