We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to architect and drive the systems behind large-scale AI data operations. You’ll be the technical glue between Product, Operations, Engineering, and Project Delivery — translating client needs into scalable, efficient workflows. If you thrive in complexity, love creating order out of chaos, and want to shape the infrastructure behind AI model training, this is the role for you.
Why does this role matter?
AI systems are only as good as the data they’re trained on. At Chemin, that means having tight, thoughtful infrastructure for delivering high-quality, scalable, and technically sound datasets. You’ll be the architect behind that infrastructure, — ensuring each project is not just completed, but engineered for speed, quality, and future-proofing.
Responsibilities
- Translate requirements into scalable workflows — partner with clients and internal teams to define data pipelines and technical delivery scopes
- Design & own technical specs for data annotation workflows, tools, integrations, and automation where applicable
- Build bridges across teams — work with Project Delivery, Talent & Partnership, Product, and Engineering to ensure alignment and coordination
- Scope & plan technical programs — from dataset pilots to full-scale execution, manage dependencies, timelines, and iterations
- Problem-solve in real time — debug bottlenecks across tech, tools, data formatting, and annotation workflows
- Track & report performance — define success metrics and build dashboards for delivery health, throughput, and quality
- Experiment & optimize — pilot new workflows and automation ideas to increase efficiency and reduce manual steps
- Coach delivery teams — bring technical clarity and rigor to the broader operations team, helping upskill PMs and annotators in tools and process logic
Requirements
- 6–9 years of experience in technical project or program management, with a deep understanding of data workflows
- 3-5 years of experience managing teams and bringing the best out of those under your care
- Strong analytical and systems thinking — able to deconstruct ambiguity into clear process logic and technical plans
- Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, data labeling, evaluation pipelines, or annotation tooling (preferred, not mandatory)
- Experience working in cross-functional environments involving Product, Engineering, and Operations
- High fluency with spreadsheets, structured data formats (CSV/JSON), dashboard tools, and lightweight scripting or automation workflows (e.g., n8n, Zapier, or equivalent)
- Comfortable interfacing with clients, vendors, and internal teams at various technical fluency levels
- Calm under pressure, proactive in flagging risks, and clear in documenting workflows
