Job Title: DC Plant Operator (DC Shift Lead)
Reports To: DC Engineering Manager
Overall Role:
Provide general overall DC FM services including continuous monitoring of the facility. Responsible for attending and completing the service request assigned and providing coordination and monitoring in Preventive and Reactive maintenance work in HV/LV infrastructure. Supported in adhoc minor project activities. Work with an engineering manager to handle routine management operations to achieve excellence in operations incorporating industry best practice, innovative maintenance techniques and statutory and contractual compliance. Oversee the day-to-day management and control of all plant, mechanical and electrical systems and co-ordinate the remedial action in the event of critical incidents. To provide supervision and direction to multi skilled Engineering technicians and teams made up of directly employed staff and appointed vendors. Ensure that all staff and vendors employed within the client’s facilities strictly adhere to client and JLL’s policies and procedures. Reports to the DC Engineering Manager.
Operation Function:
- Managing/coordinating service provider performance including tracking work order completion and validating invoices as needed. Provide facility specific assistance to the project management team as needed or requested.
- Ensure all site management and operations practices comply with company and client standards.
- Communicate/Escalate with appropriate parties (facility manager, client, OEM vendors, etc.) as needed.
- Work with Service Center to ensure average turn around time (TAT) is within agreed KPI thresholds.
- Create a weekly report to send to the Info Systems Project Management team to assist them in reviewing incidents to determine what events have occurred that may be operational losses.
- Cultivate and maintain a positive working relationship with client representatives (JLL or external) and service providers.
- Performing day-to-day oversight/monitoring of work order completion and follow-up with service provider and client.
- Recommend continuous quality improvement practices across the client portfolio.
- Create recurring maintenance schedules for vendors.
- Support the Engineering Manager with assigning tasks to technical resources.
- Support Facilities Manager on arranging PPM contractors for submitting JHA, worker name list and confirming the dates.
- Assist Facilities Manager to source for any material that requires purchase.
- Assist on requesting a permit to work supporting documents from the contractor before schedule for any work.
- Support to check on the safety induction validity for contractors.
Communication and Relationship Coordination:
- Act as an interface with client, visitors and guests.
- Ensure appropriate follow up with customers.
- Provide direction/information to vendors, facilities staff and service providers as required ensuring excellent coordination/execution of work within client environment with minimal disruption.
HSE Management:
- To ensure the site provision of a safe working environment and compliance to HSE standards.
- Competent in undertaking Job Hazards Analysis (JHA).
- Work closely with HSE Executive in overall planning, executing and delivering HSE procedures to all activities at site.
- Provide general overall facility management services including continuous monitoring of office / facility.
Compliance:
- Coordinate portfolio and responsibility changes with the data management team to update location service matrix as needed.
- Train vendors/engineers on all applicable software platforms as needed (CMMS, etc.).
- Electrical distribution (Low Voltage) coordination work – Senior Technician.
- Any and all duties/tasks as assigned.
- Responsible in space planning for allocation and utilization of space or re-organizing current premises for new building occupants include plotting and updating floor layout plan on AutoCAD.
- Arranging/monitoring contractor on PTW process.
Qualifications and Ideal Experiences:
- Diploma in Engineering/A4 Chargeman Certification from Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
- Registered Electrical Worker or equivalent.
- 3 – 4 years of relevant experience in engineering or construction services.
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centres or critical facilities.
- Critical environment experience within a similar sized site or operation.
- Experienced with continuous improvement initiatives and preparation of reports.
Additional Information:
- Working Location: Kuala Lumpur
- Urgent Joiners: October
- Working Hours: 24/7, 12-hour shift pattern 4 on / 4 off for the first 4–5 months; afterwards Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm
- Must-Have Skills: DC experience, hands-on experience (license required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to RM9,000.00 per month
