Curriculum Implementation:
- Create and implement engaging learning activities to develop children’s cognitive, emotional, physical, and social skills.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs and abilities of students.
Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment where children can explore and learn.
- Set clear expectations for behavior and guide children to follow classroom rules and routines.
- Implement strategies to manage classroom behaviors effectively, ensuring that children are respectful, cooperative, and engaged.
- Monitor and address conflicts between children, helping them develop positive social skills.
Child Development Observation &
Assessment:
- Observe and assess each child’s development, learning progress, and behavior regularly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date record of children’s development, including written observations, portfolios, and assessments.
- Share regular feedback and progress updates with parents or guardians during parent-teacher meetings or through other communication channels.
Support and Foster Social-Emotional
Development:
- Provide opportunities for children to develop self-esteem, resilience, and positive social interactions through guided activities and group play.
- Encourage children to express their feelings, needs, and ideas in a respectful and appropriate manner.
- Help children develop problem-solving skills and foster independence while providing a supportive and caring environment.
Parental Communication and Engagement:
- Build strong, positive relationships with parents and caregivers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress, behavior, and any concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with parents to ensure the best educational experience and address any questions or concerns regarding their child’s development.
- Organize and attend parent-teacher conferences, meetings, and school events to engage parents in the learning process.
Health, Safety, and Well-being:
- Ensure the physical and emotional safety of children at all times, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Supervise children during mealtimes, playtime, and other activities, promoting healthy habits and hygiene practices.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow school policies regarding medical emergencies, illness, or accidents.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, ensuring that all equipment and materials are safe and suitable for children.
Professional Development & Team
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, school administrators, and support staff to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss strategies for improving teaching practices and addressing any challenges within the classroom.
Administrative Duties:
- Prepare and submit required reports, attendance records, and other administrative paperwork as necessary.
- Participate in school activities, such as field trips, cultural events, and extracurricular activities, to enrich the children’s learning experience.
- Assist in maintaining classroom inventory, including books, supplies, and educational materials.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and organization of special events, celebrations, and educational activities.
- Take part in regular school activities such as staff meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews.
- Follow the preschool’s policies and procedures to ensure a high standard of care, safety, and educational quality.
