Job Scope Summary:
To safeguard the physical well-being of the hotel property, employees and guests’ safety as well as to maintain the highest standard of security to ensure satisfaction for all concerned while adhering to standards required by the hotel. As well maintained all company vehicles and operate the vehicles in a safe manner in compliance with federal traffic rules & regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Controlled Access – Staff & Outsiders
Admit only on-duty employees, properly badged contractors/vendors, and registered visitors; deny or escalate all others (off-duty staff, ex-employees within cooling period, relatives, jobseekers) unless written approval is shown.
- Logging & ID Exchange
Record every off-duty entry, visitor, contractor, supplier, and vehicle in the designated logbooks; collect official ID in exchange for hotel passes and retrieve passes on exit.
- Property & Parcel Checks
No hotel asset, parcel, or linen may leave the premises without an authorised pass signed by the relevant Head of Department; perform routine bag and vehicle inspections, including garbage and laundry trucks.
- Guest-Floor Patrols (Prowlers)
Regularly patrol corridors, ensure guestroom doors-pantries-fire exits are secured, remove unauthorised persons, and report smoke, alarms, or lost-and-found items immediately.
- Lobby Control
Keep the lobby clear of loiterers, prostitutes, transvestites soliciting clients, and other undesirable characters; politely direct non-guests to Reception and alert the team via walkie-talkie when necessary.
- Staff Conduct & Briefings
Attend shift hand-over briefings, rotate posts every two hours, perform mandatory clocking, and never abuse authority—detain only when policy requires.
- Vehicle & Loading-Bay Management
Regulate traffic at the loading bay, queue vehicles safely, prevent congestion, and verify documentation before any property leaves.
- Control Base Station (CBS) & Fire Panel
Keep CBS/FACR clean, restrict access, track key movements, monitor guards via radio, and report any fire-panel or security-system faults to Maintenance.
- Emergency Preparedness
Be fully conversant with fire and evacuation procedures; give clear instructions to guards during incidents to enhance guest and staff safety.
- Hotel Vehicle Stewardship
Inspect oil, water, tyres, brakes, and cleanliness before each shift; obey traffic laws, log every trip, and report mechanical issues to the supervisor without delay.
