To plan, develop, implement and maintain Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) activities/ programs, policies and procedures to ensure optimum awareness on EHS
Responsible for EHS related issues and ensuring that the company complies with related law & regulations, standards and guidelines from relevant authorities
Monitor and update the EHS Legal Register regularly to keep track of relevant laws and regulations.
To perform workplace inspection and support internal/ external audits by various parties such as customer, authorities, ISO and follow-up efforts or any relevant projects as required by management
Take proactive measures to reduce hazards at workplace and prevent possibility of future occurrence of incidences and accidents
To advise the employer or any person in charge of a place of work on the measures to be taken in the interests of the safety and health of the person employed in the place of work
Work closely with the local statutory bodies (DOSH, NIOSH, BOMBA etc.) to ensure compliance and update OSH related issues
Identify potential risk and recommend practical and cost-effective solutions in safety management.
To conduct an annual HIRACR review at all sites collaboratively with other teams.
Liaise with YCH Group EHS on matters related to EHS
Become Secretary of Environmental, Health and Safety Committee, assist the committee in organizing and implementing occupational safety and health programs at the place of work and assist in any inspection of the place of work for the purpose of checking the effectiveness and efficacy of any measures taken in compliance with the act and regulation
Investigate and report any accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrences, occupational disease and EHS complaints.
Respond to incidents (accidents, near misses, etc.) promptly, investigate, and report findings.
To collect, analyze and maintain statistics on any accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning and disease which have occurred at the place of work
Prepare Monthly EHS Report and Statistics report
Facilitate safety training, monitor and conduct courses as required
Assist in implementing ISO14001 standards in collaboration with the QA HOD.
Review and update EHS programs, policies, and procedures as necessary to maintain compliance and improve safety standards.
Participating in audits by authorities, certification bodies, and customers, ensuring EHS compliance with requirements
Organize and conduct the yearly Fire Drill to ensure employees are prepared for emergencies.
Participate as an Internal Auditor, understanding standards and customer requirements related to safety, health, and the environment.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the superior
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Safety Green Book Holder.
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in EHS related work
· Minimum Degree level.
· Have own transport and willing to travel.
· Able to read, write, understand and communicate in English & Malay.
· Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
