Role Overview:
As a Production Support Leader for Gate 1B, you will oversee and drive operational excellence across Cleaning, NDT, and Inspection processes for aircraft engine components. You will lead a team to achieve defined targets in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines. This role requires strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Drive operational excellence by leading Coaches and teams to achieve SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity) targets, ensuring alignment with FLIGHT DECK principles such as Standard Work, Flow, 5S, and Kaizen.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency while maintaining compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Foster a culture of safety by identifying and eliminating hazards, ensuring adherence to safety practices, and promoting proactive risk management across all production activities.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality services by monitoring compliance with airworthiness standards, addressing quality issues, and driving root cause analysis and corrective actions resulting from audits and compliance monitoring programs.
Strategically manage resources, including tools, equipment, and facilities, to ensure their efficient utilization, proper maintenance, and readiness to support production needs.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging lean methodologies and FLIGHT DECK tools to enhance operational performance and achieve long-term business goals.
Build and develop high-performing teams by monitoring performance, providing coaching and feedback, and ensuring employees receive technical training aligned with company and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production challenges, summarize data, and communicate actionable insights to drive decision-making and achieve operational targets.
Promote GE Values and integrity through exemplary leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment that aligns with organizational goals and priorities.
Act as a strategic partner to the Operations Manager by providing insights on production trends, resource planning, and opportunities for process optimization to support broader business objectives.
The Ideal Candidate:
Candidate will have strong operations background managing high volume shift operations and possessing deep knowledge in process engineering. Ideal candidate should have technical degree with at least 5 years experience and demonstrated background in working with multiple stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Degree in any discipline and more than 5 years of aviation experience.
Strong understanding of MRO activities and shop processes (added advantage).
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to execute effectively.
Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentations.
Ability to summarize data and clearly communicate issues and actions needed.
Strong verbal and written communication, teaming, and influencing skills.
Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
