Pharmacy Assistant Duties:
- Dispensing Medications: Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Medication Storage: Properly store medications and manage stock to ensure they are within expiration dates. May involve labeling and organizing products.
- Customer Assistance: Provide information on over-the-counter medications, health products, and assist customers with finding the right products.
- Prescription Management: Receive, check, and process prescriptions, and ensure they are filled correctly.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, sales, and stock inventories.
- Stock Monitoring: Monitor the inventory of pharmaceutical products and reorder stock as necessary to avoid shortages.
- Customer Queries: Answer basic health-related inquiries and offer advice on proper medication usage under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Assisting in Health Screenings: Sometimes, pharmacy assistants help with basic health screenings (e.g., blood pressure checks) under supervision.
