A PE/CCA (Physical Education/Co-Curricular Activities) teacher has responsibilities related to teaching physical education, developing and managing co-curricular activities, and overseeing related administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities in a PE/CCA Role:
- Teaching Physical Education:
- Planning and delivering engaging PE lessons for students of various ages and abilities.
- Creating a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Assessing student progress and providing feedback.
- Adapting teaching methods to cater to diverse learning needs.
- Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) Management:
- Developing and implementing a diverse range of CCA programs.
- Organizing and coordinating CCA activities, including scheduling and logistics.
- Ensuring the quality and safety of CCA provision.
- Managing student participation and attendance.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Maintaining accurate records of student participation and performance.
- Communicating with parents, students, and other stakeholders regarding CCA programs.
- Managing budgets and resources for CCA activities.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations and school policies.
- Leadership and Mentorship:
- Guiding and mentoring students in their chosen CCA activities.
- Inspiring students to participate and excel in physical activities and extracurricular pursuits.
- Potentially supervising and supporting other teachers or coaches involved in CCA programs.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Academic Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or equivalent
- Experience: At least 2 years' relevant experience in teaching physical education and managing co-curricular activities.
- Passion for Education: A genuine enthusiasm for promoting student well-being and participation in sports and extracurricular activities.
- Organizational and Management Skills: Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to student participation, safety, or program management.
