- Location - Batu Arang, Ijok.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and evaluate their severity.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and implement preventive measures.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with quality assurance processes
- Setting and enforcing standards; enforcing anti-retaliation provisions of the OSH Act and other federal whistleblower laws
- Administration work and filing for JKKP/DOSH Documentation
- Updating the Safe Work Procedure from time to time as per needed
- Able to attend the auditing session with JKKP/DOSH from time to time
- To ensure the external contractors and external technician briefing in regards with safety terms before entering the premises
- To ensure that all workers of this company are following the safety and health rules and regulations and perform the site walk from time to time.
- Have strong critical thinking skills
- To conduct the training internally and/or from external trainer to fulfil the compulsory training needs. Assist in coordinating and administering training programs, courses, and workshops. Support training sessions and ensure materials are up-to-date
- Ensuring that safety and health practices are in accordance with company and government mandates
- Develop and deliver safety awareness materials (slides, presentations)
- Assist with factory inspections and document findings.
- Help draft safety procedures and create presentation slides
- Knowledge in ISO 9001:2015
- Managing Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) for the Company
- Liaise with Government agencies on EHS matters to meet Company & Regulatory requirements
- Handle external EHS audits and conduct EHS internal audits
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines. To advise on safety measures, conduct risk assessments, and enforce preventative measures. To promote a safe workplace, providing training, and investigating incidents to improve overall safety.
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity
- Evaluate the adequacy of the Contractor's HSE management system and programs (ESHMP), ensuring alignment with legal requirements. Review and monitor its implementation
- Conduct regular HSE site monitoring activities to identify and notify the potential hazards and to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Initiate and manage HSE programs to promote a culture of safety and disciplined compliance among all
- Provide coaching, training, and briefings to the Contractor's personnel on HSE best practices and the requirements of the ESHMP as well as regulatory requirement.
- Ensure effective monitoring of environmental compliance as per the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Conditions of Approval.
- Provide expert guidance, coaching, training, and/or briefings to build a strong culture of disciplined compliance with the ESHMP and to create a Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) free workplace.
- Participate in the meetings and to provide input regarding HSE practices.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive HSE documentation related.
- To review high risk activity (including Permit To Work System) and recommend appropriate controls, if any.
- Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant HSE legislation and best practices.
- To monitor contractors’ timely submission on HSE and Sustainability related data, including waste, water and energy data.
- Able to advise employer to achieve the objective of protecting fellow workers from works hazards.
- Continuously improving to ensure sustained compliance to OSH law
- Identify and assess hazards, risks and control measures for operation or process.
- Conduct ongoing review of operations and processes to identify potential hazards, risks and control measures that should be implemented to reduce these risks, including all costs involved in implementing such measures.
- Assess and document hazards, risks and controls in a manner consistent with established procedures and practices.
- Supervise the safe handling, storage & disposal of hazardous materials.
- Supervise the operation of any potential hazards in the workplace.
- Improve workplace safety and employee productivity by transitioning from manual safety procedures to IT systems HSE requirements.
- Ensure that health, safety, and environmental policies and local regulations are followed.
- In-charge of all safety, health, environmental, fire protection and emergency response matters for the company.
- Fostering a culture of safety and preventing serious injuries and fatalities.
- Investigate all safety and occupational health related injuries/accidents. Implement all corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of injuries and incidents.
- Develop SOP for Environment, Health and Safety issues for the company.
- Other ad hoc duties such as liaison with the authorities relating to Environment, Health and Safety and preparation of EHS reports for management.
- Implement the safety work plan of the company's Safety and Security Department, complete the safety standards of the Safety and Safety Department, and implement the company's safety rules and regulations.
- Supervise and inspect the daily production operations of the workshop, standardize the operation of the employees of the vehicle, organize the implementation of the safety three-level education system, establish the safety management accounts of each workshop, strengthen the supervision and supervision of the construction work of the external committee, and verify the safety qualifications of the construction units of the external committee.
- Responsible for the inspection and supervision of the company's environmental protection facilities.
- Responsible for the implementation of the company's pollution reduction plan implementation and technical support, and assist in the verification of pollution reduction.
- Responsible for safety and environmental protection technical measures plan and hidden danger rectification plan, as well as reporting and inspection implementation.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field of HSE in the manufacturing industry. Previous experience in heavy machinery industry preferred.
- Possess qualification required by the local law and policies stated from the government bodies.
- Diploma in the relevant field.
- Strong analysis skills and sensitive to potential physical hazards and unsafe mentality.
- Fluent in English and local languages. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to coordinate progress and decision in organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong resilience to handle complicated situation and fast speed working environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science (preferred)or equivalent Competency Course approved by JKKP/DOSH
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) such as Green Book or equivalent professional certification (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, construction safety standards, and environmental best practices.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Registered as Safety and Health Officer (SHO) under JKKP/DOSH Malaysia.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
