Marifah International School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lower Secondary English Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching English to adolescents and be able to engage students in developing advanced reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction in English Language and Literature to students in Grades 7, 8, and 9, preparing them for higher-level studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and learning standards for Lower Secondary students.
- Teach literature, grammar, creative writing, and critical reading, fostering analytical and communication skills.
- Create a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, respect, and a love for learning.
- Design, administer, and grade assessments to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ performance, attendance, and participation.
- Integrate technology effectively to support and enhance teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials, teaching strategies, and school events.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
- Participate actively in professional development sessions, meetings, and school activities.
- Supervise students during assigned duties and assist with co-curricular activities as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching English at the lower secondary/middle school level, preferably in an international or bilingual school.
- Strong knowledge of literature, English language structure, and adolescent learning strategies.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into classroom instruction.
- Native-level or fluent English proficiency (spoken and written).

Monday – Friday: 7:40 AM – 2:30 PM
