Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Physiotherapy Lecturer to join our academic team. This role involves delivering high-quality education in physiotherapy, mentoring students, and contributing to the ongoing development of our physiotherapy curriculum. The successful candidate will possess a solid academic background in physiotherapy and practical experience, enabling them to connect theory with hands-on application.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Learning
- Design, deliver, and assess undergraduate (and/or postgraduate) courses in physiotherapy, including core subjects such as anatomy, biomechanics, musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory, neurology, and clinical rehabilitation.
- Facilitate practical skills training, simulation-based education, and clinical placement supervision.
- Incorporate evidence-based, inclusive, and innovative teaching methods, including blended and digital learning approaches.
- Supervise student projects, case studies, and clinical competencies.
2. Curriculum Development
- Contribute to the review, development, and enhancement of physiotherapy curricula aligned with professional standards and accreditation requirements.
- Ensure course content reflects current research, clinical practice, and evolving healthcare trends.
3. Research & Scholarship
- Engage in research relevant to physiotherapy and allied health sciences.
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic or clinical conferences.
- Participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative research initiatives.
- Support student research projects and promote a research-informed teaching culture.
4. Clinical Engagement
- Maintain current clinical knowledge and professional registration.
- Liaise with clinical partners to coordinate placements and ensure quality supervision and assessment.
- Serve as a role model for evidence-based physiotherapy practice.
5. Academic Leadership & Service
- Participate in departmental committees, program review, and quality assurance processes.
- Provide academic and career advising to students.
- Engage in outreach, recruitment, and community engagement activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department and institution.
Requirements:
- PhD in Physiotherapy or a related field.
- Professional certification or licensure in physiotherapy.
- Proven experience in physiotherapy practice, with a minimum of 3 years in clinical or academic settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teaching and student support.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping current with physiotherapy advancements.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in curriculum development and academic program enhancement.
- Proficiency with e-learning platforms and digital tools for online teaching.
- Prior involvement in physiotherapy research and knowledge dissemination through publications.
