We are currently seeking a Lead Piping Engineer (Onshore) to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur.

About the mission we offer you:
- He/She shall report directly to Piping & Material Head of Department and Piping Design Section Focal Point.
- He/She is responsible for the Project Team for all tasks performed by the Piping Project Team (including Material, Handling &HFE and Stress Team, where coordination is concerned) relating to the project scope of work.
- He/She is the focal point of contact and coordination within the Project Team. He shall assist the Project Manager, Engineering Manager and Project Engineer to furnish them with the latest Piping Progress and Input.
- He/She assumes the technical responsibility of all piping design and piping support activities for his project.
- In the case of Stress, Material Handling, HFE and Material engineering activities, Stress, Material Handling, HFE and Material Lead Engineers shall take responsibility for their technical aspects. They shall liaise with the Piping Lead Engineer for scope and schedule related activities and coordination with Project Team and Client.
Main Accountabilities
BUDGET, PLANNING & SCHEDULE
- Develop Piping Manpower & Man hour Planning with Deliverable List in coordination with Planning and Piping & Material Head of Department at the early stage of the Project.
- Review Project Level 2 and 3 schedules. Then, provide feedback to the Project or Planning Team if requested.
- Prepare and identify Project Progress Milestones based on the Schedules given by the Project team.
- Perform the Periodic Piping Progress Measurement.
- Endorse the timesheets and request for leave of his piping team (Optional).
- Review Project Contract (Require contract from Project to summarize all Piping Deliverables).
- Prepare and manage E-ICR system for design changes.
WORK EXECUTION
- Review Project scope documents and arrange for access or issue a copy of relevant documents to his piping team for reference and implementation. Any subsequent revisions are duly circulated to his piping team.
- Prepare and review Job Specifications, Piping Standards (Design and Construction), Design Instruction and other relevant documents (with the help of Piping Material and Piping Stress Lead) to be in line with Project Deliverable List.
- Issue Work Instructions specifically for the project. This will be distributed to all his Piping Team members.
- Develop checklist with advice by Material Lead and 3D System Administrator for gate review for the Ident Code readiness to be loaded into the system prior extraction of CP1 isometric.
- Share with the Piping project team on the piping milestone target.
- Ensure the readiness of 3D model for 3D model review session.
- Develop Piping Isometrics Checking, & IFC Issue Schedule based on Level 3 schedule. Following that, he/she shall establish Weekly Isometric Progress Tracking System.
- Review all Vendor Data in Piping Job Scope.
- Ensure the Project Document Distribution Matrix is relevant for the activities of the piping team. Develop a Plot Plan with the coordination of all Area / Unit / Module Leads.
- Conduct Progress Meetings at regular intervals with his piping team.
- Prepare Progress Reports input as required by the Project Team.
- Attending Project Coordination Meetings and Client Review Meetings when required.
- Coordinate with Sub-Contracting Department to provide Piping MTO and necessary Job Specification for Fabrication and Construction contract
- Prepare Internal and Client Scope Change Requests and issue them to Project Team for approval.
- Raise or review DCNs or FDMs of key documents.
- Provide clarifications to Field Engineering Queries and arrange for ‘As-Builts’ isometrics where it is required. Liaise with his Piping Team on the issue which requires technical expertise, updated methods and procedure.
- Review and approve all documents and drawings issued by the Piping Design and Pipe Support Groups.
- To instruct 3D CAD Modeling System Administrator to perform verification on 3D modelling database inherited from a client.
QUALITY AND HSE
- Issue the Piping Discipline PQP (if required by Project Team). He has to maintain the quality of work that is produced as stated in Piping & Material DWP and by the company.
- Distribute all correspondence within the piping team.
- 3D Model Reviews
- Assist Project Team (if required) and attend all 3D Model Reviews organized by Project Team.
- Conduct the internal piping audit as and when requested by the department.
ARCHIVING & CLOSE-OUT REPORT
- Archive of project documents after the job completion. It is recommended to apply digital archiving in softcopy and avoid hardcopy archiving unless stated in the contractual requirement.
- Compile all project statistics on matters relating to Piping progress and deliverables from the start of the project, with regards to man-hour spent vs. budget including all design change orders, material summary report final weight vs. budget and other salient features of the project.
- Prepare the project close out report.

About you:
- Recognized Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- At least 15 years of working experience in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Offshore/Floaters and in an engineering company as Lead Piping Engineer
- Experience in DFS/FEED / Detailed Design & EPC project
- Makes decisions independently concerning problems within the discipline on the project. Represents the discipline on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions and as required to coordinate work.
- Knowledgeable in application of 2-D and 3-D CAD tools in engineering development & execution and production design deliverables. Guiding piping team for best piping layout design as per project requirements.
- Responsible for the engineering design, construction and execution of piping system,
- Knowledgeable in Industry Piping Codes and Standards, and familiar with Industry Equipment codes.
- Coversant with project management, team leadership, vendor management & cost saving
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Organized, methodical and detail-oriented
- A good team-worker, with a strong work ethics.
- Pro-active and willing to take initiative.
- Strong multi-tasking, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Nice to have
- Well verse in E3D and S3D
- Well verse in Macro or any programming language
- Professional Engineer with practicing certificate
