Job Overview
The IT Executive will oversee, maintain, and enhance all IT systems across the supermarket’s head office and 8 branches. This role ensures smooth daily retail operations by managing POS systems, inventory software, networking, and data security. The IT Executive will also coordinate with vendors, support staff, and branch managers to ensure uptime and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Retail Systems Management
- Maintain and troubleshoot POS systems, barcode scanners, receipt printers, and cash drawers.
- Oversee inventory management software and ensure real-time stock updates across all branches.
- Ensure proper integration between POS, ERP, and accounting systems.
- Manage price updates, product catalog changes, and promotions in the system.
2. Network & Infrastructure
- Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN networks for head office and all branches.
- Configure and manage routers, firewalls, and VPN connections for branch connectivity.
- Ensure secure and reliable internet access for both operational and administrative needs.
3. Hardware & Software Support
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices for branch and HQ staff.
- Provide on-site and remote IT support to branch employees.
- Manage hardware asset inventory, including servers, printers, scanners, and backup devices.
4. Data Security & Backup
- Implement and monitor antivirus, firewall, and endpoint protection.
- Schedule and verify daily backups of POS and ERP databases.
- Enforce security policies for passwords, access control, and data protection.
5. Vendor & Third-Party Coordination
- Liaise with software vendors, ISP providers, and hardware suppliers for maintenance and upgrades.
- Oversee warranty claims, AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts), and service agreements.
6. IT Projects & Improvements
- Support rollout of new systems, hardware upgrades, and process automation.
- Train staff on new applications, security awareness, and IT best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2–4 years of IT support experience, preferably in retail or FMCG environment.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems, retail ERP software, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with networking (LAN, WAN, VPN), hardware troubleshooting, and Windows OS.
- Good understanding of data security, backup solutions, and IT policies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel regularly to branches.
- Welcome of fresh graduation.
Working Conditions
- Based at Head Office with frequent travel to 8 supermarket branches.
- May require after-hours support during system outages or upgrades.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
