ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Category Management: Analyze spend data and develop sourcing strategies for various indirect categories.
- Supplier Selection & Negotiation: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and ensure service quality.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments (e.g., IT, HR, Finance) to understand needs and align procurement efforts.
- Cost Optimization: Drive cost savings through competitive bidding, supplier consolidation, and value analysis.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor supplier markets, assess risks, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Project Support: Ensure procurement timelines align with project milestones, including FATs, site installations, and customer-specific configurations, if required from outside labs.
- Market Research: Monitor market trends and benchmark pricing to inform sourcing decisions.
- Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure suppliers meet regulatory, ethical, and sustainability standards.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and spend analysis reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Support Audits & Compliance Reviews: Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation and ensuring procurement practices meet regulatory and company standards.
- Process Improvement Initiatives: Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at streamlining procurement workflows and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Training & Knowledge Sharing: Provide guidance and training to junior team members or internal stakeholders on procurement tools, policies, and best practices.
- Sustainability & CSR Support: Contribute to sustainability initiatives by sourcing environmentally responsible services and promoting supplier diversity.
- Support Crisis Management: Assist in managing supply disruptions or urgent sourcing needs during project escalations or unforeseen events.
- Benchmarking & Best Practices: Conduct benchmarking studies to compare sourcing practices and identify opportunities for innovation or cost reduction.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS – REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in indirect procurement, preferably in an ETO or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing categories such as engineering services, logistics, IT, and MRO.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a project-based environment.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced environment
- Willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages (German, Spanish, French or Mandarin) are a plus espically in multinational environments
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS – DESIRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
- Experience with SAP systems and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (preferred)
- Master’s degree or professional certfication (CIPS, SPSM, APICS)
- Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits or industry events: up to 15% travel
- Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes, policy, and systems
