Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the Housekeeping Department to ensure smooth coordination of daily operations. This role is responsible for managing communication between housekeeping and other departments, updating room status, maintaining records, and supporting inventory and reporting tasks, particularly during the pre-opening phase.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Opening Phase
- Assist in setting up housekeeping systems, filing structures, inventory logs, and internal communication processes.
- Help compile SOP documentation, training attendance, and staff schedules.
- Coordinate the delivery and documentation of linen, amenities, uniforms, and cleaning supplies.
- Participate in testing and onboarding of Property Management System (PMS) and housekeeping software.
Administrative Support
- Answer and manage all calls, messages, and requests related to housekeeping services.
- Maintain daily records of room status, lost and found items, and maintenance issues.
- Prepare daily housekeeping reports, assignment sheets, and shift rosters.
- Monitor and follow up on guest requests, turn-down services, and special setups.
Communication & Coordination
- Liaise with Front Office, Engineering, and Laundry to ensure smooth operations.
- Dispatch tasks to room attendants and supervisors through radio or internal systems.
- Track progress of rooms being cleaned and promptly update status in the PMS.
Inventory & Reporting
- Keep records of stock movement for linen, guest supplies, and cleaning items.
- Assist in preparing monthly consumption reports and requisition forms.
- Support inventory control and stocktaking procedures as required.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Clear communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to RM2,300.00 per month
