Are you an experienced tax professional with deep expertise in petroleum and corporate taxation, ready to lead strategic tax planning and compliance across multiple jurisdictions?
We are looking for a forward-thinking and hands-on Head of Tax to lead tax governance, optimize fiscal strategies, and ensure regulatory compliance within TotalEnergies EP Malaysia.
Activities
Your Impact
As a key part of our Finance team, you will:
- Lead tax compliance across Malaysia and international entities (Bahamas, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand), ensuring timely and accurate filings for PITA, CITA, SST, VAT, and GST.
- Oversee monthly tax computations, instalments, deferred tax calculations, and forecasts by block.
- Manage tax audits, negotiate with authorities, and maintain robust transfer pricing documentation.
- Provide strategic input for Country-by-Country Reporting and Global Minimum Tax to HQ.
- Advise on tax optimization initiatives and secure incentives and exemptions in coordination with HQ and legal teams.
- Lead and develop a high-performing tax team, fostering growth and alignment with business goals.
Candidate Profile
What We Are Looking For
We seek an experienced tax leader with the strategic mindset and technical depth to elevate our tax function. To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Taxation, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 15+ years of professional experience in taxation, including 10+ years in Oil & Gas.
- Proven expertise in PSC tax structures, transfer pricing, and international tax frameworks.
- Strong command of SAP, Excel, and Power BI.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Leadership experience in managing cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- This position is open to Malaysian citizens or permanent residents only.
