MAHSA International School is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and passionate French Teacher to join our teaching faculty. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching French across both Primary and Secondary levels and must be familiar with the Cambridge curriculum, including the IGCSE French syllabus. The teacher must be able to effectively prepare students for the IGCSE French examination by Year 11.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective French lessons to students in both Primary and Secondary.
- Prepare Secondary students for the IGCSE French examination by Year 11, in line with the Cambridge curriculum.
- Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans that cater to a range of student abilities and learning styles.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and educational technologies to enhance language learning.
- Foster an engaging and supportive classroom environment that promotes participation and curiosity.
Assessment & Feedback
- Design and conduct age-appropriate assessments aligned with the Cambridge and IGCSE standards.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback and maintain clear communication with students and parents regarding progress.
Student Support & Development
- Provide additional support through small group or one-on-one sessions as needed.
- Encourage students of all ages to develop a love for the French language and culture.
- Build an inclusive learning environment that supports students of diverse needs and backgrounds.
Classroom Management
- Establish a positive and respectful classroom environment with clear routines and expectations.
- Address academic or behavioral issues in a proactive and professional manner.
Collaboration & Professional Growth
- Work closely with colleagues across departments to support whole-school initiatives and interdisciplinary learning.
- Participate in professional development and remain up to date with best practices in language teaching and the Cambridge curriculum.
Extracurricular Involvement
- Contribute to school events and extracurricular activities, particularly those related to language and culture.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in French or a related field; a teaching qualification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years teaching experience across both Primary and Secondary levels.
- Prior experience teaching the Cambridge IGCSE French syllabus is essential.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with using educational technology is an advantage.
- Other: A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to student success at every level of learning.
