MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
The main duty of the technician is to install and repair fiber optic cables
- Resolve, repair and install fiber optics systems, ensuring that they work properly.
- Examine and replace faulty and/or old fiber optic cables.
- Organize scheduled maintenance routines.
- Take care of fiber splicing and rectify fiber optic problem areas.
- Develop sensor indicators and conduct timely inspections, so that a faulty fiber optic system does not destabilize its performance.
- Work closely with project teams to achieve project goals and deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field in Telecommunication.
- Certified Fiber Optics Technician (CFOT) and Certified Fiber Optics Specialist (CFOS) would be an advantage for this position.
- Proven experiences of experience as a Fiber Optic Technician or in a related role.
- Familiarity with fiber optic testing equipment and tools.
