Job Description
· Should have thorough knowledge of all menu items and service procedures.
· Check tables to ensure maximum cleanliness and provides comfort by controlling that they are not over-dressed with service accessories.
· Cleans and resets tables as soon as guests leave. The tablecloth must be changed; the chairs and sofas brushed off and properly placed at the table. He /she places all items required for the initial set-up of each table in their proper places. The silverware must be spotless.
· Assists in bussing soiled items to the washing area and disposes them in the establishment way.
· Ensures that mise-en-place is completed prior to service and that all stations are properly stocked.
· Pours water immediately as guests sits down.
· To be completely familiar with menu and with food preparation methods; provide information of Food and Beverage at assist guests in making selection.
· Up- sells selected items and other promotional offer.
· To supervise junior waiter/ waitress in cleaning tables, re-set tables.
· Present check to guest and receive payment to cashier and return change to guest.
· Take guest orders and present to kitchen. Pick up the entrée when ready to serve to guest in the proper order of course.
· Assure that food and beverage are served at the desired temperatures and that guests have a sufficient supply of necessary items such as fresh water, rolls, etc.
· Performs specific duties such as servicing bread, pouring water, serving coffee and assisting guests.
· Serve food from trays and remove dishes from customers table after meals has been completed.
· Ensure that all equipment is used in such a way as to prevent damage. Makes sure that all the dirty dishes and linen are cleaned up at all times according to instructions. He/she must be completely familiar with all instructions and detailed instructions given to him/her by the Restaurant Manager/Supervisor at all times when working.
· Reports to Restaurant Manager/ Supervisor, anything he/she cannot handle alone and reports any complaints immediately.
· Works as a team member and offers help when needed. Whenever guests ask a waiter or waitress for service even though he/she may be seated in another station, he/she must be helpful and answer the affirmative. He/she must see that the request is filled either by him/herself or by relaying it to the Supervisor or colleagues on that station.
· He/she will be assigned certain side work that must be completed prior to the opening or after that closing of the Restaurant each day. It is his/her responsibility to complete the work to the satisfaction of the outlet Supervisor.
· Must exercise correct service techniques at all times. He / she never uses equipment for any purposed for which it is not intended either by house rule or by custom.
