Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the set-up and commissioning of a new electro-plating line, including machinery, layout, and chemical tanks.
- Train and supervise operators, ensuring they fully understand operational safety, chemical hazards, and proper handling of equipment.
- Oversee daily plating operations, ensuring consistent quality, productivity, and adherence to specifications.
- Monitor and manage the chemical composition of plating baths and ensure proper dosing, filtering, and replenishment.
- Troubleshoot plating defects and recommend adjustments or improvements in the plating process.
- Perform or supervise routine maintenance of plating machines and related equipment to reduce downtime and extend machine life.
- Ensure full compliance with safety and environmental regulations during chemical handling and waste disposal.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to support continuous improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a plating or metal finishing manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes, surface preparation, and metal finishing techniques.
- Familiar with plating chemicals such as nickel, chrome, copper, and zinc, including safety protocols.
- Ability to lead a small team and communicate effectively with production staff and management.
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
