Digital Content Executive
Job Description:
Responsible for the development and management of digital content to support the strategic communication efforts of the department/government agency through digital platforms, including social media and multimedia channels. This is in line with government communication policies and the department’s corporate branding objectives.
The role is aimed at developing and executing strategic communication initiatives that enhance and strengthen the organization’s image, reputation, and stakeholder relationships. It requires strong skills in planning, writing, social media management, and digital content creation to effectively communicate key messages to both internal and external audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Content Management
- Plan, create, and schedule digital content for official platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter).
- Ensure all messaging is accurate, relevant, and aligned with government policies, directives, and priorities.
- Tailor content based on target audiences and the requirements of each digital platform.
Creative Multimedia Development
- Produce visual and audiovisual content including infographics, digital posters, short videos, animations, and social media captions.
- Oversee video recording, editing, and the preparation of digital promotional materials.
- Ensure all multimedia outputs comply with the Corporate Identity Manual and government visual standards.
Performance Monitoring and Analysis
- Monitor the effectiveness of digital content using social media and web analytics.
- Prepare regular reports on reach, user engagement, and the impact of digital communications.
- Propose improvements based on analytical data and public feedback.
Digital Crisis Communication Management
- Support the management of public feedback on digital platforms promptly, accurately, and ethically.
- Collaborate closely with media coordination officers and relevant units/divisions in managing viral issues or digital reputation crises.
- Ensure content management during crises complies with guidelines set by the Ministry’s Communication Unit, Ministry of Digital, Ministry of Communications, and other relevant agencies.
Support for Government Campaigns and Programs
- Participate in planning and executing digital campaigns related to government policies, programs, or departmental initiatives.
- Develop content that supports the communication objectives of government programs, including national branding narratives.
- Assist with on-ground programs through digital coverage, live streaming, and real-time updates.
Required Competencies:
- Excellent writing and editing skills in both Bahasa Melayu and English.
- Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and awareness of current issues.
- Skilled in creating and editing designs/posters/infographics using various software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage communication crises.
- Good working relationships with media and related agencies is an added advantage.
- At least three (3) years of experience in corporate communications, media, public relations, or related fields.
Qualifications:
- Malaysian citizen
- Aged between 18 and 35 years on the closing date of the job advertisement
- Academic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Communication, Mass Media, or other related fields recognized by the government from a local institution of higher learning, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- At least a Grade B in Bahasa Malaysia at the SPM/SVM level or an equivalent qualification recognized by the government.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in strategic communication.
- Proficient in design and graphics applications.
- Strong proficiency in both spoken and written Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Strong knowledge and skills in information technology and effective use of social media platforms.
- Excellent writing and editing skills in both Malay and English.
- Strategic and creative thinking with a keen awareness of current issues.
- Capable of working in fast-paced environments and handling communication crises.
- Existing professional relationships with media and relevant agencies are an added advantage.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
