Responsibilities:
AMD is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Business Insights Lead to support APJ Channel Operations, driving evidence-based decision-making and business growth through advanced analytics and actionable insights. This leadership role not only delivers deep market intelligence, performance analytics, and strategic recommendations to optimize AMD’s channel operations—but also manages and mentors a team of Commercial Insights Specialists, fostering a high-performance, insights-driven culture.
As a trusted business advisor, this individual will collaborate closely with APJ Leadership, Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to deliver predictive analytics, competitive intelligence, and performance reporting that enhance decision-making and channel effectiveness. The successful candidate will combine strong business acumen, technical expertise, and team leadership capabilities to drive impactful outcomes across AMD’s commercial ecosystem.

THE PERSON:
  • Developing and executing an advanced analytics and insights strategy that supports APJ Channel Operations and drives business optimization.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing a team of four Commercial Insights Specialists, ensuring high engagement, performance, and career growth.
  • Leveraging data analytics, market insights, and strategic planning to deliver actionable recommendations to commercial and channel leadership.
  • Enhancing partner performance, sales effectiveness, and operational efficiency through timely, data-informed decisions.
  • Driving strategic initiatives that improve channel and distribution effectiveness through in-depth analysis, reporting automation, and process optimization
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Commercial Insights Specialists across APJ and India, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and support professional development and training for team members.
  • Allocate work strategically to balance priorities across channel insights, reporting, planning, and executive deliverables.
  • Serve as an escalation point and provide strategic guidance to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of key business insights and analytics.
Business Insights & Analytics:
  • Develop and maintain a robust business management system for tracking key metrics across Commercial, Consumer, Component, Embedded, and FAE segments.
  • Analyze channel sales, partner performance, and market trends to generate insights that fuel sales growth and business expansion.
  • Build forecasting models and predictive analytics tools to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Track sell-in, sell-through, and inventory levels to optimize supply chain efficiency and partner performance.
Sales & Operations Planning (SOP):
  • Lead weekly sales and operations cadence meetings, planning sessions, and business deep dives across the APJ region.
  • Deliver commercial insights and data-driven recommendations to improve partner coverage, sales productivity, and revenue growth.
  • Support quarterly sales target setting, goal attainment analysis, and performance tracking in collaboration with Sales and Finance.
Executive Reporting & Storytelling:
  • Prepare compelling executive-level reports, dashboards, and presentations that clearly communicate business performance and strategic opportunities.
  • Automate and optimize reporting workflows to ensure efficient, accurate, and accessible business insights delivery.
  • Translate complex data into concise, business-relevant narratives for senior leadership audiences.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Optimization:
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, Channel Operations, and Finance teams to embed data-driven decision-making across the business.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency, data integrity, and operational excellence.
  • Align regional analytics initiatives with global strategies, ensuring consistency and scalability.
Key Competencies & Skills:
People Leadership:
  • Proven experience leading high-performing analytical or commercial teams, with strong coaching, mentoring, and delegation skills.
  • Ability to inspire and develop talent while driving accountability and results.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team management and cross-functional collaboration.
Analytical & Technical Expertise:
  • Strong background in data modeling, analytics, and visualization using Excel, Power BI, and Tableau.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database querying to support self-service data access and advanced analytics.
  • Ability to extract actionable insights from complex or incomplete datasets.
Business & Commercial Acumen:
  • In-depth understanding of channel and distribution models, including sell-in/sell-through metrics, demand planning, and retail dynamics.
  • Solid experience in sales operations, business planning, and performance optimization.
  • Strong commercial storytelling and executive presentation skills.
Execution & Operational Excellence:
  • High attention to detail, with a strong focus on data quality and reporting accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight timelines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and adept at driving process improvements.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • 5–7 years of experience in Sales Operations, Business Analytics, or Commercial Insights roles, with 2–3 years managing or mentoring analytical professionals.
  • Proven leadership experience in developing and guiding high-performing teams.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Power BI, Excel, Tableau, SQL (preferred), and CRM/reporting systems.
  • Experience in the IT or semiconductor industry, ideally within channel-focused roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in cross-functional, high-growth environments.
