We are searching for a well-organised, innovative lecturer to join our established university.
The lecturer's responsibilities include developing course materials and curricula, inspiring meaningful discussions, attending conferences, consulting with other academics and professionals, supervising graduate students, grading assignments, and being an active member of the university.
To be successful as a lecturer, you should demonstrate superior leadership, listening and communication skills. Outstanding candidates are able to prepare and deliver impactful lectures and are eager to collaborate with professionals both within and beyond their discipline.
Lecturer Requirements:
- Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of the chosen academic field, backed by advanced qualifications such as a PhD or, at a minimum, a Master’s degree.
- Pedagogical Skills: Demonstrated ability in effective teaching and curriculum development.
- Supervision Experience: Proven experience supervising at least one student who has successfully graduated under your guidance.
- Previous teaching experience or industry experience is an advantage.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using various educational technologies, including learning management systems.
- Data Analysis: Capable of conducting statistical or qualitative research analysis, depending on the field.
- Digital Literacy: Ability to integrate digital tools effectively into the teaching and research process.
- Ability to inspire students with your passion and subject expertise.
- Flexibility, resilience, and a willingness to work extended hours when needed.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Lecturer Responsibilities:
- Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars.
- Developing curricula and course material adaptable to both online and in-person platforms.
- Collaborating with fellow academics to enhance teaching methods and broaden academic insight.
- Supervising graduate students where applicable — with a strong track record of at least one successful student graduation.
- Setting and grading assignments, tests, and examinations.
- Conducting impactful research and contributing to academic publications, including proposals, journal articles, and books.
- Actively participating in academic meetings, conferences, and institutional events.
- Engaging in training and development initiatives offered by the university.
- Providing academic and pastoral support to students and contributing to departmental goals.
