ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
The Assistant Manager – Statutory Reporting and Projects, will be responsible for preparation of Statutory Accounts in line with relevant IAS/IFRS, GAAP and Local standards of serving BAT entities (End Markets). Statutory Reporting will include preparation of Financial Statements on a quarterly and annual basis. Responsible for assisting on other matters such as delivering yearly specified reports, E-Invoicing, Sales and Service tax and Withholding tax filings. The person needs to ensure quality and accuracy of the statements and timely completion of services and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the Service Level Agreement (SLA). Projects would include the carrying out scoping, design, building, testing of specified financial reports with designated tools.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
  • Financial Reporting – Responsible for extraction of information from SAP and prepare financial statements for annual and quarterly submission for the BAT end markets. Statements need to be in line with IAS/IERS, GAAP and relevant local accounting standard and ensure reasonableness, reconcile and analyze information that exhibited, schedules, supplemental data requests, and financial notes.
  • Variance Analysis – Ensure completeness and provide clarity of the quarterly and annual statutory financial statement line-by-line analysis for other BAT entities which explains significant, unusual or unreasonable variances, and is used as a basis to furnish management’s presentations. Liaise and work with responsible parties to obtain any necessary information, clarification, or make corrections.
  • Annual Report / Audited Financial Statements – Provide necessary supporting and detailed information to internal and external stakeholders to complete the financials.
  • Assistant Manager is responsible for accurate design of specified reports with designated tools. Ensure that final end product is a report that is tested and signed off by respective End Markets and ensure yearly delivery of such reports.
  • E-Invoicing – Preparation, reviewing and submission of relevant E-invoicing transactions for the BAT Malaysia entities.
  • Sales and Services Tax (SST) – Preparation, reviewing and filing of SST returns for the BAT Malaysia entities.
  • Withholding tax – Preparation, reviewing and filing of WHT returns for the BAT Malaysia entities
  • Assist managers to deliver management book with all the necessary schedules and additional information to be presented therein.
  • Response to queries in a timely and efficient manner to promote a customer-orientated culture in Finance Shared Services.
  • Support manager with ad-hoc analysis and activities in order to achieve company’s overall objectives.
  • Good project management skill for service migration from End Markets to support Finance Transformation initiatives of the group
ESSENTIAL EPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • A qualified accountant (e.g. ICAEW, ACCA, CPA) with 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Major in accounting and in depth understanding of interpretation of IAS/IFRS and relevant accounting standards
  • MS Office (e.g. Excel / Power point) – medium / advanced level of knowledge and usage
  • Experience of working in preparation of statutory accounts for publicly listed companies would be seen favorably.
  • Ability and desire to learn new things
