An Injection Moulding Technicians primary job is to set up, monitor, operate and troubleshoot plastic injection-moulding machines. This requires specialized knowledge of materials, specific tools, and equipment. Troubleshooting tasks might include dealing with inconsistent material, faulty equipment, human error, and preventing defects from occurring.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform and direct the mould and material changing processes
- Assure that mould set up, changeovers, and housekeeping standards are met
- Work with production and lab personnel to ensure moulded parts meet requirements, make adjustments as necessary
- Troubleshoot moulding machine and process problems including normal adjustments.
- Ensure moulding machines and supporting systems are set to correct parameters and meeting the production goals
- Inspecting parts to ensure they meet the customer specifications
- Review and inspect machines daily for maintenance issues and report to the maintenance department
- Stop production to correct any quality issues and follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all safety, quality and work rules and regulations
- Daily update and record machine downtime reports.
- Report to HOD in a timely manner for any important aspects and problem related to assigned responsibility.
- To perform any additional assignments as instructed by HOD and to maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skill in the performance of all assigned responsibility.
