We are seeking a hands-on and dedicated Technician to support equipment and facility maintenance in a food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring that machinery, tools, and utility systems operate efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of maintenance procedures, troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to work in a shift-based environment. The Technician will also help maintain compliance with quality, hygiene, and safety standards required in the food industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor machinery according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Identify and troubleshoot recurring machinery, equipment, or part-related problems
- Assist with machine breakdowns under guidance from senior maintenance personnel
- Conduct periodic inspections and update maintenance records based on repair requests
- Perform daily machine checks and submit monthly ANA reports to the superior
- Complete and file Machine Breakdown Forms for all repair jobs during operations
- Perform scheduled calibration on equipment (e.g., scales, tunnel ovens, rack ovens)
- Repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment at employee hostels
- Maintain an organized tool inventory and update the tools activity record
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the maintenance room
- Promote and maintain a safety-first work culture
- Uphold personal hygiene and support quality, safety, and 5S practices
- Support corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives
- Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time
Skills & Competencies
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems maintenance
- Ability to read and complete forms in English and Malay
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Willingness to work overtime and follow shift duty schedules
Education, Qualifications & Training
- Minimum SKM Level 4, Diploma, or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- Valid driving license required
- On-the-job training provided
Experience & Specialised Knowledge
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a food manufacturing or industrial setting
- Experience with machinery troubleshooting, inspections, and preventive maintenance
- Familiarity with building maintenance methods and techniques is an added advantage
