SPECIAL NEEDS TEACHER
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (a Master’s degree is an added advantage).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with children with special needs.
- Knowledge of common learning disorders (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Dyslexia, etc.).
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual learning needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A high degree of patience, empathy, and dedication to student development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student abilities and progress.
- Employ a variety of teaching techniques and adaptive materials to engage students with diverse learning styles and needs.
- Create a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment conducive to learning and development.
- Collaborate closely with therapists and families to ensure a holistic approach to student growth.
- Monitor and document students’ academic, behavioural, and social-emotional progress.
- Provide regular communication and updates to parents and guardians.
- Maintain professional development by staying current with best practices in special education and participating in relevant training or workshops.
