Subject Teacher’s Responsibilities
Planning
- timely submission of yearly Program Plan and weekly Lesson Plan
- timely submission of monthly test and term exam results
Teaching
- teach subjects assigned according to the latest Cambridge English syllabus
- plan, prepare and present lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class
- take responsibility for the learning progress of a class of students
- organise the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment
- maintain discipline of students according to Classroom Management System
- prepare and mark student’s work according to Homework Management System
- prepare students for qualifications and external examinations
Assessing
- give appropriate feedback and maintain records of students’ progress and development
- meet the requirements for the assessment and recording of student’s development
- provide feedback to parents and/or carers on student’s progress at Parent-Teacher Conference
Development
- keep up to date with, and implement, academy policies
- keep up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
- research new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, and devise and write new curriculum materials
- select and use a range of different learning resources and equipment, including podcasts and interactive whiteboards (when available)
- undergo regular observations and participate in regular in-service training (INSET) as part of continuing professional development (CPD)
DUTY
- coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and supporting colleges in the delivery of the specialist area
- undertake pastoral duties, such as taking on the role of form tutor, and supporting pupils on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties
- organise and taking part in school's events, field trips, outings, and activities
- meet with other professionals such as learning mentors, career advisors, education welfare officers and educational psychologists, if required
Support
- supervise and support the work of teaching assistants (TA), trainee teachers (TT) and newly qualified teachers (NQT) Subject Teacher’s Responsibilities
