The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire production operations of the plant, ensuring efficient resource allocation, on-time delivery, and high-quality output. The role is accountable for achieving key production KPIs while ensuring compliance with safety, legal, and environmental standards. The manager will also lead cost control initiatives, new product introductions, and continuous improvement efforts to support the company’s high-growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee plant-wide production planning and resource allocation (annual capacity target ≥2GWh).
- Monitor and improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) to ≥85% and maintain line balancing rate at ≥92%.
- Lead New Product Introductions (NPI) and ensure mass production ramp-up within 30 days.
- Execute cost control initiatives, maintaining material loss rate ≤0.8% and reducing energy consumption ≥5% YoY.
- Manage and develop a production team of 120+ staff; implement and maintain a skill matrix with 100% certification coverage.
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA and ISO 14001 environmental and safety standards.
- Drive continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma (targeting annual savings of ≥USD500,000).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial or Electrical preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production management within a power battery or energy storage plant.
- Strong command of Lean tools such as VSM, SMED, TPM.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with SAP and MES systems.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (valid certificate ID required).
- Proven crisis management capabilities (successfully resolved ≥3 major production critical events).
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Business Mandarin is required to liaise effectively with Chinese-speaking senior stakeholders and technical teams based in China.
