Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of machinists and machine operators to ensure production schedules are met.
- Monitor machining processes to ensure quality standards and specifications are maintained.
- Schedule and assign work to machine operators and ensure proper machine setup.
- Inspect finished products to detect defects and ensure compliance with technical drawings and quality standards.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to improve skills and productivity.
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and procedures.
- Troubleshoot machining problems and provide technical guidance to the team.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality departments to resolve production issues.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, scrap rate, and downtime.
- Manage maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime and prolong machine life.
- Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards.
- Prepare production reports and documentation as required.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in machining operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of CNC and conventional machining processes and equipment.
- Familiarity with machining tools, measuring instruments, and quality control procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
