Job Description:
As a Legal Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our Malaysian subsidiaries by ensuring legal compliance and mitigating risks in a dynamic and growing industry. You will work closely with management and external partners to drive legal excellence across our operations.
Job Responsibilities:
1) Manage all legal matters for assigned Malaysian subsidiaries.
2) Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
3) Provide strategic legal advice to Management and HQ on operational issues and their business impact.
4) Collaborate with external lawyers on major corporate exercises, litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations.
5) Support multi-million-dollar tender activities and provide end-to-end legal guidance.
6) Ensure compliance with Malaysian laws and regulations relevant to manufacturing and mining industries.
7) Monitor contract performance and propose practical solutions to address issues.
8) Report directly to the Head of Legal on significant legal and operational matters.
9) Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on key legal topics.
10) Perform additional tasks as assigned by Management and HQ.

Requirements
1) LL.B. (Hons) degree and professionally qualified in a common law jurisdiction (e.g., CLP).
2) Admitted to the Malaysian Bar with at least 3 years of experience in legal practice or as an in-house counsel.
3) Litigation or arbitration experience is required.
4) Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) due to reporting lines and communication with HQ in China.
