Job Description: Horticulturist Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Horticulturist to join our team. The Horticulturist will be responsible for cultivating, maintaining, and improving the health and appearance of a wide variety of plants, including rare and exotic species. This role also involves research, conservation, and providing education to visitors or stakeholders about sustainable agricultural and horticultural practices.
- Plant Care & Cultivation
- Propagate, plant, prune, fertilize, and manage the growth of fruit trees, flowers, and ornamental plants.
- Monitor soil, irrigation, and nutrient management to ensure optimal plant health.
- Pest & Disease Management
- Identify plant pests and diseases and apply integrated pest management (IPM) solutions.
- Maintain chemical-free or sustainable practices where applicable.
- Research & Conservation
- Study plant species, growth conditions, and seasonal cycles.
- Support conservation of rare or exotic plants through proper documentation and care.
- Education & Visitor Engagement (if applicable)
- Conduct guided tours or training sessions to share knowledge about horticulture and plant care.
- Prepare educational materials for schools, research teams, or farm visitors.
- Farm & Garden Maintenance
- Maintain nurseries, orchards, or landscaped areas.
- Operate and maintain horticultural tools and equipment safely.
- Record-Keeping & Reporting
- Document plant inventories, growth data, and conservation activities.
- Provide reports to management on crop yield, health, and improvements.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresh graduate
Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
